Uncanny Valley

A dissatisfactory perception of an object by a human based on the relationship between the degree of an object’s resemblance to being human and then humans emotional response to that object. Objects that seem too human-like but not human cause feelings of discomfort or aversion. The concept of the uncanny valley can also apply to the use of data where people will feel that systems are too intrusive when capturing more data than is necessary.
