The purpose of a machine learning system is to make a prediction about data and what it represents. Machine learning systems generate predictions when presented with new data. Machine learning predictions are based on the task that it has learned, the data the machine learning system was trained on for that task, and the algorithm that tells it how to learn from that data and generate predictions from new data. Predictions are provided in terms of a classification, regression, cluster, or other output as per the machine learning model along with a probability of confidence in the prediction.
