We have some super exciting news to share with you all!
Project Management Institute (PMI), the world’s leading organization for the project management profession has acquired Cognilytica and Managing Partners Kathleen Walch and Ron Schmelzer have joined the PMI Team!
Weโre so excited about this opportunity to engage with the large PMI community, continuing the ground-breaking work and thought leadership on AI best practices weโve developed at Cognilytica.
Cognilytica is now part of PMI and we will continue providing our customers and community with thought leadership on AI and best practices focused on running and managing AI projects, and through our AI Today podcast. We will also continue to push for CPMAI, a best practices approach for running and managing AI projects.
While changes are inevitable with any acquisition, we are committed to making the process as seamless as possible to continue the great momentum and benefits weโve been providing all these years. Below are some answers to frequently asked questions about what this means for YOU and whatโs to come with the acquisition.
First and foremost, the CPMAI methodology is here to stay! Cognilytica has spent years establishing the Cognitive Project Management for AI (CPMAI) Methodology as a best practices approach for running and managing AI projects. Weโre excited to be working with PMI to transition CPMAI to PMIโs learning systems and into PMIโs portfolio of certifications. CPMAI methodology will be included in a PMI Specialized Certification in the near future under a new name (stay tuned for that announcement).
Existing Cognilytica CPMAI certified customers, during this transition period, will receive a new badge from PMI. Customers who have not completed their CPMAI certification training are encouraged to continue completing their CPMAI training on the Cognilytica Learning Management System (LMS) during the transition period; when they complete a certification course they will continue to earn the certification and a digital badge to provide evidence that they learned the CPMAI methodology.
The CPMAI methodology is being adopted by and playing a core role at PMI. The methodology itself, and the name, is not changing. PMIโs new AI-focused Certification will leverage and incorporate the CPMAI methodology as a core part of its training and certification. Stay tuned for a new certification name, and big announcement to come when itโs available for enrollment.
Yes! Everyone who has successfully earned their CPMAI certification (any version) will also receive the new PMI-branded Certification badge. PMI will email all customers who have earned a CPMAI certification with details on how to receive their PMI badge soon, so stay tuned.
The Cognilytica Learning Management System (LMS) will continue to be up and operational, accepting new enrollments and registrations during the transition period. Once the courses are migrated to the PMI learning management systems, we will transfer all active users to PMIโs LMS to continue their learning journeys. So, feel free to enroll and start your CPMAI training and certification today if you are interested!
Everyone who has enrolled in the CPMAI certification on the Cognilytica system will have access to the Cognilytica LMS including all videos, exercises, and final exam for up to ninety (90) days from date of enrollment. Make sure to complete your training and certification before the three (3) months are up. Once the PMI systems have been set up with CPMAI training and certification, we will transition new enrollments to the PMI systems. Those who have enrolled in the Cognilytica LMS will maintain access to the Cognilytica LMS until the end of their 90-day enrollment period.
All customers who have earned a Cognilytica certification in the past such as the CPMAI, will soon receive a Credly badge from PMI via email. Instructions on how to access the Credly platform and redeem your badge will be included in the email from PMI.
Additionally, Cognilytica and PMI will migrate CPMAI certified and other certified customers to PMIโs Certification Registry during the transition period.
Ron and Kathleen have joined PMIโs leadership team and will play an integral role in the further expansion of PMIโs role in applying AI to elevate project professionals, further enhancing the PMIxAI initiative.
Cognilyticaโs content including our blog posts, articles, infographics, white papers, research, and more will be migrated over time to PMI websites.
Cognilytica will migrate content from other non-CPMAI Cognilytica training and certification courses to PMI for use as future supporting content and potential future online courses.
The AI Today podcast will continue providing great content, thought leadership, insights and interviews. There will be slight changes to the podcast branding, and we will include more content focused on making AI work for project professionals. If you havenโt done so, make sure to subscribe to AI Today to get notified of all our upcoming episodes.
